Position Summary Information

Objective

To overall manage classrooms and supervise children during the BTXLA program, direct volunteers, and collaborate with Director of Programs to ensure the safety, development, and well-being of each child in the program.

Essential Duties

1. Collaborate with other Educational Instructors to ensure the daily running of Brenham Texas Leadership Academy (BTXLA), including set-up and clean-up, bus routes, play time, classroom time, chapel, and any other aspect of the BTXLA day.

2. Develop a relationship with each student in assigned classroom and implement educational activities catered to each student’s individual needs.

3. Oversee the classroom portion of BTXLA, including homework help and additional enrichment activities, along with directing volunteers as to where and how to help.

4. Provide and have energetic atmosphere/attitude, and provide an environment for support and encouraging students to participate and get excited about BTXLA.

5. Implement and maintain the discipline strategies of TBXLA, including the enforcement of the 5 Rules, along with committing to maintain the 4-Level Discipline System.

6. Serve as liaison between Brenham Texas Leadership Academy and the families of each student in assigned class. Keep track of student’s progress, struggles, and triumphs, and report to families and staff.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must be work study eligible.
Must be at least a half time student.
